Fire Restoration Equipment

McArdles utilises many different types of of equipment to help perform the best quality job and outcome for the client

  • ULV Foggers
  • Thermal Fogging Devices
  • Ozone Generators
  • Hydroxyl Generators
  • Air Filtration Devices

These are wet foggers that produce smaller droplets than wet foggers/misters.

  • ULVs are used to treat airspace with either water or alcohol-based formulations.
  • Droplets can stay suspended in air for 5 to 6 hours instead of a few minutes with the wet fogger allowing for better penetration.
  • The droplets are sizes that range from 8 to 15 microns.

Thermal foggers are machines that utilises heat to change liquids into small droplets. These droplets condense when introduced into a cooler atmosphere. Thermal foggers can produce droplets as small as 0.5 microns up to 2 microns in size.

The symbol for ozone is (O3); ozone generators are mechanical devices and are very effective in eliminating odours, especially those odours of organic nature. WARNING: occupants and technicians using this device must be aware of the health risks; Ozone is toxic when inhaled, and creates a dangerous fire and explosion risk when in contacted with organic materials; for these health and risks concerns McArdles only uses this device under controlled circumstances.

Hydroxyl is like ozone, are created in earths atmosphere and also can be manufactured by machines, and are also oxidising gases. Ultraviolet light combined with water molecules as moisture in the air produces hydroxyl molecules. Hydroxl ions are extremely short-lived molecules, but are extremely safe and can be placed in any area require minimal to no supervision.

Known as air-scrubbers and negative air machines are simply a housing which contains a fan and filters. These devices are used to maintain contained work areas under negative pressure. Devices fitted with high efficiency filters (HEPA) can be used to purify air by particle filtration. air scrubbers can also be fitted with carbon and “nano” filters to remove odours.

HEPA Filters by definition, HEPA filters remove 99.7% of particles down to the size of 0.3 microns. HEPA filters can be utilised to remove dry particles from the air. Vacuums equiped with HEPA filters are recommended o prevent re-depositing of particles which passes through filters of less effective vacuums.
