Yesterday, our office received an urgent call from Mary-Anne at Orange Centre Square regarding a pipe blockage in a grease trap located in the car park beneath the shopping centre. We quickly responded and arrived at the site within 45 minutes. The centre management had already cordoned off the area to ensure the safety of the public.

The primary concern for the centre management was to contain the area and clean up the spill to prevent any slip and trip hazards for pedestrians. The incident had occurred during the early hours of the morning, and as a result, car tires had driven over the affected area, spreading the grease and sewerage throughout the car park.

We had a conversation with Mary-Anne to discuss the best course of action for removing the grease and decontaminating the area. We proposed applying an antimicrobial treatment to the flooring and ensuring proper removal and disposal of the waste water and residue.

Our team promptly arrived at the site within the next hour and began implementing the necessary procedures and practices to effectively remove the grease and sewerage from the car park. The total area affected by the spill was 1,125 square metres. Throughout the day, our dedicated team of three worked diligently from 1:30 pm until 10:00 pm to complete the decontamination process and apply the anti-microbial treatment. We ensured that the area was thoroughly cleaned and safe before leaving the site.

At McArdles, we understand the urgency and importance of addressing such incidents promptly and efficiently. Our goal is to provide effective and thorough clean-up services to ensure the safety and satisfaction of our clients.
