Caution is required to prevent cross contamination when handling contaminated materials that are being removed for disposal, or for decontamination off-site. Contaminated materials must be wrapped in plastic and sealed with tape. This includes the materials and items that are to be retained but require off-site remediation.

Removal of Building Contents

Avoid cross contamination when moving contents. Contaminated contents must be decontaminated or packaged when moved in or thought out uncontaminated areas. Contents are never to be stored in plastic or sealed containers except to prevent cross contamination when being moved through uncontaminated areas.
